During the winter season, animals may be exposed to various hazards which can pose serious risks to their well being and may potentially be fatal. Becoming aware of these risks and actively decreasing the opportunities for exposure to the hazards are a way by which pet owners can keep their pets safe throughout the winter months.
Spills and leaks of this automotive hazard are opportunities for animals to lap up sweet tasting poison. As little as 15ml (1 tablespoon) can be lethal to a 10 lb cat. Any spills should be cleaned up immediately and unused product should be stored out of reach. Even suspected antifreeze exposures warrant immediate veterinary care.
The winter season is a very common time for colds and influenza, therefore pet owners tend to have more medications present during this time. Keep medication out of reach or in a closed cabinet, and also remind holiday visitors to take the same precautions.
De-icing products may cause dermal and GI irritation. Ingestion of these products may result in salt toxicosis. Store out of reach, and wipe off the paws of animals after coming inside from the outdoors.
Since Dr. Lynch's return to practice, my Senior dog's problem of many years has improved tremendously with VOM, Acupuncture/Acupressure and Chinese herbs. Dr. Lynch's ability to assess the symptoms and zero in on an effective treatment was remarkable. I am thrilled to have these alternative veterinary services available in Traverse City.

I would highly recommend Dr. Lynch for treatment. The acupuncture treatments that he has done for my cat, Maxx, have done a world of good. It has made a huge difference and the effects from the treatments have been immediate for Maxx. It is so nice to have this treatment option available.

Thanks to the entire staff of Companion Animal Hospital for tirelessly working with me to assist my dog with her fear of nail cutting! She is now able to have this procedure without any fears or resistance! Additionally the wellness care and the sincere interest in her from the staff is so nice. Always pleasant and professional the Doctors and staff are above average. I recommend this Animal Hospital to all my friends and co-workers and many now use them with the same satisfaction.
